About Us

My name is Francine Nunnari, Chinese medicine physician, Ice bath coach, Breathwork facilitator, Breath coach, and Mum to two beautiful children that expanded my world and my capacity. 

I was inspired into healthcare at a young age – my brother was hit by a car when he was 11, and I was witness to his long journey of rehabilitation – from 7 months in hospital following the accident to having alternative practitioners come to the house for the following years and assist with his recovery. My mum was open to anything that would assist his healing and wellbeing. 

My brother went on to participate in the Paralympic’s and ultra marathons and has used acupuncture and massage in treating injuries that pop up along the way. This made a huge impact on my direction and interests, and providing “care” was just a natural path for me. 

I went straight from high school in to Chinese medicine, hoping to transfer to occupational therapy after the first term, however, Chinese Medicine made sense and my mind delighted in all that I was learning. This lead me to traditional Kung fu and Taichi.

Our 4th year of University included a 3 month internship in Nanjing Provincial Hospital for 3 months, 6 days a week. My love for Chinese culture, language and landscape bloomed.

And here we are, and I have not stopped studying and I have not stoped learning. I often joke that it would take several lifetimes to study Chinese medicine as it is extremely diverse. What is constant is it’s foundations are firmly based in Nature, like all ancient medicines. This is important because we are also Nature and in a world where there is so much conflicting and confusing information, Nature and our connection and relationship to it, will always provide clarity and truth.

 

Ice baths at Flynn’s:

I started running ice baths in Port macquarie in May 2022, and since then have discovered more about myself, the community and enjoyed some of the most beautiful sunrises because of this little community gathering which was really only intended as a challenge through winter. I have since discovered my passion to run small groups: of challenge, expansion, growth and transformation. I have run Professional development workshops for Teachers and businesses, short courses for health care professionals and a series of breath classes for year 6 students. I work 1:1, small groups, online and in workshops.
